Sick enough?

VertJam2010

On a real sunny sunday at the end of April, at Ride the Hill's 'Priory' XBP Mountain Board Centre, a whole bunch of riders got together to have a laugh, chat, and indeed throw down some serious shit...
Luckily, the Dirt Monkeys were there to shoot it.

  • RTHVert10_1-00ss

Hosted by The BFC,
(with RTH, Trampa & Rem), it was to be a fun-fuelled rider-judged jib-fest akin to Cream Teas & Jam. 3 zones, jam on each till everyones had enough, write down some points. Simple, but fiendishly clever.

Zone 1- Quarter!

Rails, pipes, or pickernick table down to the quarter for f & bs spins, massive stalls, MJ's on the coping, flips, etc etc
Everyone got totally stuck in; Stirrups busting big, Brindy showing off, Ryan looking steezy, Gary & Rory going mental from the get-go. Some real great progressive moves, and peeps trying stuff again & again till they'd nail it- to cheers from the chilled crowd.. There was even a sideways finger in there for good measure :)

Witness the sickness...

Zone 2- Tyres/Stall log/vert wall!

Rock n rolls, disasters, no-complys, nose picks, taps, bonks and donks. Boned and tweaked for good measure. Some major nu-skool jibbing for yo ass.

Zone 3 - Big Air

All that riding wasn't hot enough, so everyone moved onto the big jump to cool themselves down ;) The crowds chilled & cheered while riders dropped in... Freestyling it up scunt & ting was the order of the afternoon, with the usual array of back & front flips, crazy rotations and stylish grabs. There was also The World SweetCase Championships, but more on that elsewhere...

The riding had been big and in the air. They were free, and they had style. It rocked, as you can see...
Upon prize-giving, there was plentiful applause for the worthy winners who rolled away with cash, aerobies, original rem artwork, n stuff. There were about 20 riders in total, and the top 5 was as follows...  Well done to everyone!

Zone 1:   1, Gary Crowhurst. 2, Rory Mundell Perkins. 3, Matt Brind. 4, Ryan Roberts. 5, Nicky Geerse.
Zone 2:   1, Nicky Stirrups. 2, Ryan Roberts. 3, Gary Crowhurst. 4, Alan Newman. 5, Toney Newsome.
Zone 3:   1, Nicky Stirrups. 2, Gary Crowhurst. 3, Matt Brind. 4, Rob Dryburgh. 5, Rory M P /Pete Hills.

and OVERALL...

Gary took it with 163 points, 2nd went to Stirrups with 142, and bringing home 109 for third was Brindy.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
